A New Voice for Ottawa West-Nepean

My name is David Pratt and I will be your Liberal candidate for Ottawa West-Nepean in the next Federal election. I want to be your Member of Parliament.
I had the honour of representing Ottawa and Nepean residents as an elected municipal and federal representative from 1988 to 2004. I also served as Minister of National Defence and played a significant role in helping return Canada's military to the justifiably proud institution it is today.
Like you, I am very concerned about the direction this country has taken since the Conservatives came to office in 2006. Ottawa West-Nepean has not been well-served by John Baird. I do not believe your voice is being heard and I intend to do something about that. That's why I am running in the next election.
The tone on Parliament Hill needs to change. With our economy in shambles and a return to Mulroney-era deficit spending now a reality, the time for partisan games by the likes of John Baird and Pierre Poilievre is over. The business of the nation demands adult behaviour.
I want to help lead the return to competence and professionalism in governance.
I am convinced that the liberal team Michael Ignatieff is putting together will combine experience, talent and enthusiasm. It's the combination that will put this country back on the right track.
Please give me your support as the next Liberal candidate for Ottawa West-Nepean. I will do everything in my power to help reclaim common sense on Parliament Hill on your behalf.
Sincerely,

Nortel Town Hall Meeting Report
On October 21st, 2009, a Town Hall Meeting on the pension issues surrounding the Nortel bankruptcy was held, organized by the Ottawa West-Nepean Liberal Association and hosted by Liberal candidate David Pratt.
We are grateful for the assistance of the Marc Garneau M.P. and a number of community leaders for their assistance. A report on the meeting has been prepared, and can be viewed below.
